I’m not a perfect organic mom. My 2-year-old eats nuggets sometimes and that’s okay.
Here is what my toddler actually ate today – real life, no Instagram filter:
BREAKFAST – 7:30 AM:
Scrambled eggs with cheese, banana slices, water in sippy cup. He ate half, threw half. Normal.
MORNING SNACK – 10:00 AM:
Apple slices with peanut butter. Tip: I cut apple super thin so he doesn’t choke. He ate 3 slices.
LUNCH – 12:30 PM:
Pasta with butter and peas, shredded chicken, strawberries. This is my winner meal – he always eats pasta.
Where I save money: I don’t buy baby food jars. I mash what we eat. Saves $20/week.
AFTERNOON SNACK – 3:30 PM:
Cheese stick and crackers. Easy for car when we go to park.
DINNER – 6:00 PM:
Rice, ground turkey, broccoli with cheese. He ate rice only. I didn’t fight – toddlers are weird.
BEDTIME SNACK – 7:30 PM:
Warm milk and half banana. Helps him sleep.
What I learned:
- Offer, don’t force. If he doesn’t eat, he will eat next meal.
- Same plate as us = less cooking, less money.
- Picky days are normal. One day he eats all veggies, next day only air.
My USA money saving tip:
Target Good & Gather brand snacks – same as name brand, half price. I save $15/week.
